Waiting is torture. I agree when I am the one waiting. I wait for something when its realization has a high probability attached to it. I get disappointed when the wait smirks at me like a 'blank call' (on a phone without C-Id). I am fine if sometime during the wait period of t (and not 't+∆t') the probability turns low and I get to know. That is, when I am informed within 't' that I should wait for 't+∆t' or, that I may stop waiting. But then, how often does that happen! Torture indeed!
Waiting is torture?! I disagree when I am being waited-on. I will not purposely make anyone wait. Whoever is waiting should understand that there is some genuine reason on why I have not turned up on-time. They should understand that there is a reason why I have not finished a task on time. There has to be some reason why I could not inform them on time. After all, what do I gain by purposely making someone wait! Torture indeed !! (psst...hEnry hIggins style??)
"Just you wait Henry Higgins, just you wait!
You'll be sorry, but your tears'll be too late!
You'll be broke and I'll have money. Will I help you? Don't be funny.
Just you wait, Henry Higgins, just you wait!...
Then they'll march you, Henry Higgins to the wall
And the King will tell me: 'Liza, sound the call.'
As they raise their rifles higher, I'll shout 'Ready! Aim! Fire!'
Oh-ho-ho, Henry Higgins, Down you'll go, Henry Higgins.
Just you wait!"
(A song from the 1964 movie "My Fair Lady")
Just you wait :D
